Inbay has chosen to support Samuel’s charity
Inbay has chosen Samuel’s Charity as its dedicated charity of the year and will spend the next 6 months fundraising for it.
Among the activities, staff have in store are dress down days, long-distance cycling rides and quiz nights – just to name a few.
Matt Takhar, CEO said: “This charity is particularly close to our hearts as it was started by an Inbay employee’s nephew while in hospital fighting cancer and the family have continued to run the charity in his name. We have long been supporters of this great charity and all the fundraising they do to help terminally ill children. Our staff are excited about putting their fundraising plans into action to help such a worthy cause.”
At the start of September 2013, Samuel was admitted to St George’s hospital in South London. He was diagnosed with a cancer, one that is very rare – Precursor T-Cell Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma. This particular type had not been seen before. This meant the treatment for it wasn’t black and white, and there was trial and error in the type of treatment he received. However, despite his aggressive treatment that impacted on all his major organs, joints, bones and eyes Samuel was still his old self – chatty and friendly. He was a true inspiration and his courage and spirit touched everyone who met him.
What is even more amazing is that Samuel wanted to help other children and their families in similar situations as he was in. He had such a big heart and the desire to make a difference and that is why he started Samuel’s Charity. He wanted to help really sick kids and their families get through what is most likely the worst time in their lives, to make their time more bearable and to bring some relief, fun and hope to their day.
Laura May, Operations Manager, said: “I am so pleased that Inbay have chosen to support Samuel’s Charity that is now being run by my brother-in-law. It means the world to us.”
Inbay is very passionate about working with charities and raising money to help as and when they can. As a team, they are dedicated to raising as much money as possible to help Laura’s brother-in-law in his quest to keep Samuel’s Charity at the forefront of people’s minds.
